UPDATE – Thursday May 21st, 2020
USA Clay Target League 2020 Modified Spring Season Conference Assignments
On April 13th, teams committed to the “participating” status that allows them to submit student athlete scores prior to the extended season score submission deadline of June 24th. This allows teams and student athlete to compete in conferences.
Due to the uncertainty of participating athletes and teams due to pandemic concerns and/or participation decisions that have been made after April 13th, there are some teams and/or select athletes that will not be able to participate and submit scores.
Per the League’s Policies & Procedures, team conference assignments are based on the number of registered student athletes on a team. The True Team scoring method the League uses is based on an approximate percentage of the lowest number of athletes on the smallest team in a conference so it is important to have accurate numbers of registered student athletes.
Because of the uncertainty of each team’s participation status and to provide the fairest competition among all teams within a conference, the League will assign conferences AFTER the scoring deadline. By doing this, the League can confirm the actual number of participants and assign conferences using the most accurate data.
Any student athlete that posted a score during any of the five competition weeks will be counted as a participating team member when assigning a team to a conference.
Any student athlete that did not post a score during any of the five competition weeks will not be counted as a team member when assigning a team to a conference.
Due to verifying the actual amount of participating teams and student athletes after all scores have been submitted, the following updated schedule will be used.
June 24: Season score submission deadline 9 p.m. CT. (no change from previous)
July 1: Conferences announced.
July 6: Week 1 results published.
July 7: Week 2 results published.
July 8: Week 3 results published.
July 9: Week 4 results published.
July 10: Week 5 and final results published.

UPDATE – Tuesday, May 12th 2020
The USA Clay Target League regretfully announces that the 2020 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship, previously scheduled for July 8-12th, has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health threat.
As the event in Mason, Michigan is widely attended by thousands of athletes, coaches, families, and spectators of all age groups, the League firmly believes that this decision is in the best interest of all involved.
Drawing from the largest pool of high school clay target athletes in the world, the USAHSCTL National Championship is the premier high school clay target shooting event with over 3,000 of the best high school athletes representing hundreds of high schools across the nation.
For seniors and their families, the event is often the highlight of their high school sport careers. The League shares in their frustration and disappointment at the situation surrounding COVID-19, and encourages them to keep participating by joining or forming teams to participate in our college programs this fall.
